Welcome
Station 45 - home of Anderson Cleary, the youngest Chief in the history of Cascade. This man gave his all for the station. He brought it back from the brink of closure as a Captain. He remodeled the building, made sure that everything out of date was improved and replaced. However, the station soon came upon turmoil as it was torn in half by the actions of two men. Even after all the close calls he had gone through, nothing could take him away from his beloved station and job. That was until his life was taken in the performance of his duties. It left the station in shock of losing their leader and friend.

As they gave the highly decorated hero his final ride on the truck and laid him to rest, a new threat came to Station 45 and the two others in the city. A pyromaniac was about to make his mark on the city and give this station a new threat to face without their leader. This wasn't their only problem. The actions of two men a few weeks before Anderson's death left the station torn. Five crew members and a Captain was replaced and left a gap in the personnel. Now this burden rests upon the shoulders of a new Chief and old friend to Anderson - Gavin O'Leary.

Personality
Garrett is a bit of an odd charachter. He is a little cold, and can even come off as rude or blunt, but that's just how he is. He knows his manners, but he hardly uses them. He's in his own little world most of the time. He dosn't trust people that easily, and he is hard to predict.

He knows a little more about hurting people that a person should. Then again his background required it. He's very disciplined, and keeps in shape. You could say he has a personal vendetta against mobsters or anyone who disobeyes the law, in a way he most certianly does, in another way, it's just what he knows to do.

He has a certian dislike for people who disobey the law, and for gangs, the mob, ect. Quite contrary to his additude he has a soft spot for nature. He tends to his own garden, and holds that very dear to him. Kids and women are also in a bit of a soft spot for him, he has grown a bit of a tramatic shock from the things he's done and seen in the past.

He dislikes sea food, and likes to smoke every now and again. Nothing will piss him off worse than a crooked cop. He is a bit of a loose cannon, but it's been a while since he did anything bad enough to get him in deep trouble. If you want to get on his good side, either do the right thing, or help him in some way that means something signifigant to him.

History
Personal History:

The man whose name was Thomas came from nothing. His father was apart of a grave digging community, he hardly knew how to do anything but dig holes. His grandfather was exactly the same, his mother was busy with his siblings. While his mother and father wanted him to have a good education, his grandfather was stubborn, he wanted him to just follow his father's steps and dig graves. It was some sort of tradition that their family had done for years. He didn't want any part of it.

He went to school, but he got bad grades, he got in trouble often, the kids didn't get along with him, by grade eight, he'd almost had enough of it. The only thing keeping him going was his mother and father.

One day he got into a large argument with his grandfather about how he didn't want to dig for the rest of his life. His grandfather argued that it was what their family had done for centuries and it was what he was going to do. They yelled and finaly he told his grandfather that he hated him. His grandfather made an attempt to yell back a retort, but he choked on his words and fell down, he had just died of a heart attack. He was 74, and he dug a hole every day, it was a miracle he had lived this long.

Thomas continued into highschool, he felt resposible for his grandfather's death, but oddly he didn't feel guilty. As his school life continued he soon found school impossible to deal with, his grades dropped even lower. He had to deal with an art teacher who insisted on being an ass towards him. Thomas moved out of the class by joining the JROTC, marksmen division. He had joined it to shoot a few guns, but he soon found that he was a good shot.

A year or two passed and Thomas soon decided to join the military. His parent's didn't aprove but he soon convinced them to let him join. Things started to look up.

Right away he excelled, he was good. He was an excellent shot, daring, diciplined, bright, strong, and resourcefull. He was perfect. A few years passed, he saw action, lots of it, he shot and killed several men, he stabbed and beat a few others. It wasn't long before he rose through the ranks.

Soon he became a Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. He was on a weapons manufacturing mission. They got in, arrested, confiscated, got out. That was the plan, but it went a little wrong. The 'got in', 'arrested', and 'confiscated part went well, getting out wasn't. His entire team got away, but not him, just before reaching the pick up, he was shot in the back of his left leg, then a jeep passed bye, a hand shot out and grabbed him by the leg, dragging him as the jeep continued, he hit a rock and passed out.

He awoke in a terrible pain. He was on his stomach, his hands and feet tied down, something terrible burning his back. He knew his captors where burning out the tatoo on his back, everyone in his team had one. He screamed loudly, he heard them laughing. He felt no fear, only anger.

They didn't let him pass out, if he closed his eyes for too long they poured cold water on his face, then slapped him. They beat him, and finaly decided it was time to kill him. They dropped the hot 'X' shaped bar and drew a gun, it was only now that Thomas saw this man's face. He was bald, and had an ugly grin. He pressed the gun against Thomas's forehead and pulled the trigger.

Apparently he was out of ammo, he got up and began to ask his friends for ammunition, what he hadn't noticed was that the bar he dropped was burning through his ropes. The man came back and pointed the gun at Thomas again. But before he could pull the trigger thomas took the bar and slammed the edge of the X through his neck he coughed out blood and then fell foward, Thomas took the knife from the man's jacket pocket and cut his binds before anyone had time to react.

He was up and ready to die fighting, when his rescue came. Bullets sounded and people screamed, Marines ran in, shooting M16s a smoke screen came up and Thomas passed out.

Thomas retired at age 34. He had taken both mental and physical damage. He had requested a temporary leave of absence but they wouldn't accept it. They kicked him out. He knew what they where actualy doing, the where just bumping him off so someone better and new could take his place.

Thomas changed his name to Garret. Garret Hurt. He refused to go back to El Paso, nothing waited for him there. He had five brothers and two sisters. One of his sisters, Angela, lived in a town called Cascade. She said that the crime rate had gone dangerously high and that they could use some new cops.

Garret instantly accepted, he liked Angela, she was a good sister, and the idea of being a cop was appealing to him. They where wrong, he had no mental or physical problom, he was fine.

He came to Cascade and was accepted into the police force, his skills where still as sharp as ever. Time progressed and the crime rates retreated a little, but didn't let up, he knew there was still work to be done. Things to be straightened out, ends to be tightened, besides. The party was just getting started.
