Welcome
Station 45 - home of Anderson Cleary, the youngest Chief in the history of Cascade. This man gave his all for the station. He brought it back from the brink of closure as a Captain. He remodeled the building, made sure that everything out of date was improved and replaced. However, the station soon came upon turmoil as it was torn in half by the actions of two men. Even after all the close calls he had gone through, nothing could take him away from his beloved station and job. That was until his life was taken in the performance of his duties. It left the station in shock of losing their leader and friend.
As they gave the highly decorated hero his final ride on the truck and laid him to rest, a new threat came to Station 45 and the two others in the city. A pyromaniac was about to make his mark on the city and give this station a new threat to face without their leader. This wasn't their only problem. The actions of two men a few weeks before Anderson's death left the station torn. Five crew members and a Captain was replaced and left a gap in the personnel. Now this burden rests upon the shoulders of a new Chief and old friend to Anderson - Gavin O'Leary.

Personality Work Bennett and play Bennett are not two personalities that mix very well together. In fact, they very rarely mix at all. When it comes to her job, Bennett is all business, and she gets the job done. Having served as a fire fighter since she was twenty one in New York, New York, she's pretty much seen it all, and very little actually appears to phase her any more. Deep down, it touches her soul, but she waits for more private moments to react. Even then, it is rare that she cries.
Michelle does not have time for incompetence or delays. She can be civil, naturally, and even warm and friendly in th work environment, but since she works so frequently with arsons and, in her years as a fire figher, she's seen about the worst fire has to offer, she can be fairly touchy. That doesn't mean she doesn't laugh. More than anything, she is aware of the necessity to have a good sense of humor in times of crisis, confusion, or pain. But when time is of the essence or she is trying to help a family victimized by fire, any sort of incompetence is not tolerated.
More of a family woman than she thought she would be, she spends a lot of her time away from work with her son and husband. James, her son, plays soccer, so she spends a lot of time at practices and games with him when her work load doesn't interfer. When off duty, Michelle likes to relax with a good book in her backyard, hit the gym, garden, meditate, redecorate the house, play taxi driver for her son and his friends, and volunteers at the local animal shelter which is where she acquired Dizzy.
History Personal History: Michelle was the only planned child of Harold and Miriam Bennett. He older sister, Lilian was an unplanned baby when Miriam was eighteen and just graduating high school. In fact, Miriam spent her last semester at school pregnant. Her youngr brother, Maxwell, was an oops baby as well, though her parents were both in their late twenties when he was born and wre much more well off than when Lilian was born. Michelle ended up the more protective sibling of the three while Lilian was the most reserved. Maxwell lived off in his own little world of science and technology. Their childhood was fairly normal in that it wasn't very scarred by much trama until Michelle was sixteen years old. Lilian was off in college as a freshman, and Maxwell still attended elementary school and was in the fifth grade. The high school Michelle attended caught fire after an arson started by some older boys as a prank. Most of the school evacuated just fine, but it was quickly discovered that one of the teachers was still inside. With the fire department still absent from the scene, Michelle fought her way back inside despite other teachers trying to stop her.
She found the woman in a hallway blocked by flames. Michelle had never been so terrified in her life, but she managed to keep her wits about her, and, after crawling up a flight of stairs, through the art and theatre section off the building, and down another flight of stairs, she found the woman. Reacting on instinct alone, Michelle lead her into a classroom with minimal flames, and broke the locked window with a desk. They crawled out to be met by a fire fighter running towards them. He herded them away from the building. Not two mintes later, the flames found the chemlab. After that incident, Michelle was fairly certain of what she wanted to do in her life. She was hired by the FDNY just after her twenty first birthday and has been in fire fighting since.
Her brother died in the Marine corps six years ago serving time over seas. He was predominantly out in the field as a medic. Her sister is an ER physician in NYC. Her father moved to Florida after their mother died a year before Maxwell did, retiring from work as a construction manager.
Three years ago, she moved to Cascade after celebrating her fifteenth wedding annaversary with her son and husband as an Arson Investigator. When given the chance to work as a fire marshal just over a year ago, she jumped at it. She has also taught in the Academy since moving to Cascade. Family: Thirteen year old son, James. Husband, Richard, a teacher at Cascade High. Dog, Dizzy (8). Older sister, Lillian (40, still in NYC). Yonger brother, Maxwell (deceased @ 24, six years prior). Mother, Miriam (deceased). Father, Harold (in Ft. Lauderdale, FL). Training and Education: 13 years as a fire fighter in New York City (5 years of which she spent as an Arson Investigator), an Associates in Fire Science, a BS in Forensics.
